Melissa Edsill Tiedemann, AICP, serves as a Senior Environmental Planner and Business Development Manager with Stanley Consultants, Inc., an Iowa‑based global engineering and consulting firm. With more than 25 years of professional experience, she brings deep expertise in integrating climate-resilient palnning and sustainable redevelopment strategies into community planning.
Throughout her career, Melissa has managed millions of dollars in federal and state funding to support climate‑adaptive redevelopment, resilient infrastructure improvements, and community revitalization initiatives. She has led numerous Environmental Assessments that facilitate property transactions and redevelopment activities, ensuring projects account for long‑term environmental risks, climate vulnerabilities, and regulatory compliance. Her work on major infrastructure projects includes incorporating climate‑related hazard mitigation, sustainable design principles, and forward‑looking risk assessments.
Melissa holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Northern Iowa, where she became the institution’s first graduate with a Community Economic Development emphasis.
