Michele Mixner DeWitt, AICP, CEcD, is the interim City Manager for the City of Williamsburg, Virginia. In this role, she leverages three decades of experience in public administration, economic development, and regional planning to foster inclusive community development. Michele manages the Williamsburg African American Heritage Trail, a landmark project that honors and preserves the city's diverse history through immersive storytelling.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Michele’s career is defined by her commitment to regionalism and economic vitality. She is a past President of the Virginia Economic Developers Association (VEDA) and was instrumental in establishing the Eastern Virginia Regional Industrial Development Authority. Michele holds a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and an undergraduate degree from the Architecture School at the University of Virginia. In 2025, she further served her community through a court appointment as the Interim Commissioner of the Revenue for the City of Williamsburg. Outside her professional role, she is a leader in the horticultural and conservation community, currently serving as President of the Williamsburg Garden Club, Treaurer and Board Member for Scenic Virginia, and as a member of the finance committee of the Garden Club of Virginia.
