With more than 25 years of experience in design, planning, and development, Antoine has focused his career on community empowerment in cities across the US. Reinforced by his background in public, private, and nonprofit sectors, he believes that residents of disenfranchised neighborhoods deserve a voice in the revitalization of their communities. A dedicated diversity advocate, Antoine supports the inclusion, mentorship, and elevation of designers of color, offering his leadership to numerous organizations. Antoine formerly served as the Director of Planning & Development for the City of Detroit, where he championed the collective support of residents, businesses, and public stakeholders to propel the equitable development of the city forward. Currently serving as a Senior Associate and the Managing Director of the global design firm Gensler, Antoine draws upon his extensive planning and development experience to fuel his city-building efforts. Promoted to Regional Practive Area Leader for Cities + Urban Design, in addition to leading a tremendous team in Detroit for maximum local impact, Antoine is focused on providing innovative planning and policy initiatives across the Midwest. Additionally, Antoine possieses academic traiing in Japan, completed planning and design activities in over 30 US cities,and internationally in Belize City and St. Croix.
