Henry McCarthy (he/him) is a Minneapolis-based water professional, cartographer, occasional artist, and senior environmental scientist in the Water Resources Policy & Planning group at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities. In his role at the Met Council, Henry explores connections between the natural and built water cycles through spatial analysis and thoughtful design. As a co-lead of the Art + Policy team and water liaison, Henry strives build water literacy and make technical information more approachable, while working to center art and creative engagement in the Met Council's Environmental Services division. Beyond the office, Henry enjoys riding bikes through the green and blue landscapes of the Twin Cities, playing disc golf, and bagpiping. Henry holds a Bachelors in Geography from Macalester College.
