Joyce is the Director of Planning for the City of Shaker Heights, Ohio. Joyce has spent her time in Shaker developing and implementing plans to improve the quality of life in Shaker Heights. Major plans include: the Strategic Investment Plan, the Warrensville Van Aken Transit Oriented Development Plan, the Recreation Strategic Plan, the Lee Road Action Plan and the Van Aken Bikeway Plan. These plans have led to numerous grant applications and grant awards to make the plans a reality, such as: $19m in grants to improve the Warrensville/Van Aken/Chagrin intersection; grants for the Van Aken district living room park; improvements to recreation facilities; construction of multipurpose trails; and raising $24m for a road diet, off road bikeway and streetscape to help make the community driven Lee Road Action Plan a reality. Education: MPA, Public Administration, Cleveland State University, Levin College of Urban Affairs; BUP – Urban Planning and Design, University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Joyce has been active in the American Planning Association serving on the APA Ohio Board of Trustees; the APA Ohio Past President; the Cleveland Section Director and Cleveland Section Zoning Workshop Chair.
