Friederike Mittner, FAICP, is the Architectural Review & Historic Preservation Manager for the Town of Palm Beach, FL. As liaison staff to both the Architectural Review Commission (ARCOM) and the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), she is immersed daily in excellent design and planning opportunities. Previously, as the Historic Preservation Planner and CLG coordinator for the City of West Palm Beach, she oversaw more than 5,000 cultural resources. Ms. Mittner has worked on the designation of districts and sites on both the local and National Register, completed Section 106 reviews, and coordinated zoning regulations for building size, scale, and mass. This process included an intensive public outreach component. Ms. Mittner is a member of the Palm Beach County Historic Resources Review Board. On the State level, Ms. Mittner is a Trustee Emeritus of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. Nationally, she is the Vice-President of the American Easement Foundation, a non-profit historic preservation easement holding organization, and is a CAMP trainer for the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions. She holds a Master of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Florida and meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards in Architectural History.
