Michael is a planning consultant in York, Pennsylvania. His current work is informed by a background in environmental justice, having previously served as a Community Engagement Specialist for the E.J. Lab in the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, and as an EJ Scholar with C.E.E.J.H. Michael is currently building on his data analytics skills by learning Python to further integrate advanced modeling with his GIS planning tools.
Bringing a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the field, Michael spent a decade as a financial advisor representative before transitioning into urban planning. This financial expertise, combined with his Master of Professional Studies in Sustainable Urban Planning from George Washington University, allows him to navigate the complex intersection of capital investment and community-driven outcomes. He is dedicated to advancing equitable development and sustainable growth while providing practitioners with the tools to navigate evolving policy landscapes, such as the Opportunity Zones 2.0 framework.
