Elise Fields is a seasoned urban practitioner with over 17 years of experience advancing community and economic development in Detroit. As Senior Director of Urban Innovation at the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), Elise plays a strategic role in driving urban innovation, small business support, and the implementation of capital and special projects that enhance public spaces and foster inclusive development.
Prior to joining DDP, Elise served as Chief Operating Officer at Midtown Detroit, Inc. (MDI), where she oversaw organizational operations and a broad portfolio of place-based programs. Her leadership included managing the Façade Matching Grant Program, Small Business Development and Assistance initiatives, public space maintenance, and several district planning efforts focused on equitable neighborhood growth. Elise holds a bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University and remains committed to collaborative planning approaches that prioritize local business ecosystems and community-driven innovation.
