Founding Principal
OSD
Brooklyn, New York
Simon David, Principal & Creative Director of OSD, has over two decades of multidisciplinary design and planning experience. Simon founded OSD with an “outside-in” ethos, seeking new solutions to address the needs of people and planet and holistically integrating all parts of the built environment. OSD approaches each project without preconception, developing strategies that are responsive to an understanding of place, users, and the unique conditions of each site and context.
Simon’s leadership of OSD includes the creative direction of all projects, and comes from his passion for creating adaptable and enriching communities through resiliency, ecology, and cultural sensitivity. OSD’s projects have earned recognition in TIME Magazine’s “100 Greatest Destinations of 2025,” PBS NewsHour, The New York Times, The Architect’s Newspaper, Architecture MasterPrize, the American Society of Landscape Architects, with over a dozen international and national awards. Recent projects at OSD include the Shepherd, Stanton Yards Cultural Waterfront, and other projects underway in Detroit; the Cato Springs Master Plan in Fayetteville; and the Alice Walton School of Medicine in Bentonville.
