Carly Mitchell, AICP (she/her/hers)

Carly Mitchell is the Planning Manager with HNTB in Detroit, Michigan. She is native to Metro Detroit, graduating from Wayne State University with a Masters in Urban Planning, focused on economic development, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan. Following a passion for well-planned, connected communities, she transitioned into transportation to work toward the creation of accessible, sustainable, and innovative transportation systems for all users.

Carly focuses on environmental planning, public transportation, equity in transportation and community engagement. Her experience includes projects throughout Michigan and the Midwest; such as transit master plans, infrastructure projects, and environmental studies. Her areas of practice include; NEPA documentation, GIS-based spatial analysis, demographic and economic analysis, and stakeholder and community outreach.
