Aldea has over 20 years of experience in community outreach, strategic advocacy, and policy work across the United States. During her tenure with the NC Department of Transportation, AARP and The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, she gained valuable experience in working with diverse communities to ensure their voices were heard in planning processes and policy initiatives.
She is also the co-founder of Spaces + Places, a grassroots planning network that focuses on amplifying work on the issues affecting communities of color that are often not recognized. The network has organized workshops and convenings aimed at bringing together local urbanists and community members for shared learning and peer exchange.
In her current role as the Director of Partnerships and Advocacy at Vital Healthcare Capital (V-Cap), Aldea leads strategic partnership development and advances advocacy initiatives with stakeholders across North Carolina.
