Meg McMahan, AICP, is the Director of Planning for the City of Minneapolis, MN. Her work focuses on how land use regulation shapes housing production, affordability, and access to opportunity. She leads efforts to modernize zoning and development processes, using regulatory reform as a tool to remove structural barriers and expand housing choice across neighborhoods. Before Minneapolis, Meg served as Community Development Director for the City of Brooklyn Center, MN, where she guided development policy and investment strategies during a period of significant community change. Earlier in her career with the City of Hopkins, MN, she worked on small business development, transit-oriented development, and light rail implementation. Meg holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a B.A. in Sociology from Hamline University.
