Tamara Fou, AICP is a City Planner V in the Bureau of Planning and Design at the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development. She currently manages the Missing Middle Infill Initiative program in the south side of Chicago, supporting emerging developers to leverage vacant City-owned land and public financing to build new market-rate missing middle type homes. She is passionate about connecting the dots between the built environment and building up physical, mental, and social health in communities, and has also previously worked in both the public and private sectors in Houston, TX. Tamara holds a Master’s of Urban Planning and a Bachelor’s of Science in Sustainable Urban Environments, both received from New York University. She is involved in the AICP National Membership Standards Committee and serves as the secretary for the APA Asian and Pacific Islander Interest Group. In her free time, Tamara enjoys cycling, eating and cooking food from around the globe, and tries to explore a new city each year.
