Katherine Keough-Jurs, FAICP (she/her/hers)

Katherine Keough-Jurs, FAICP, is Director of the Department of City Planning and Engagement at the City of Cincinnati. She holds a Master of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati and a BA in Political Science from Miami University. Her notable accomplishments include project leadership of Plan Cincinnati, winner of the 2014 Daniel Burnham Award from the American Planning Association (APA). She is a skilled convener and facilitator, a strong advocate for meaningful community engagement, a leader in technical competency, and a champion for superior planning practice. She is committed to supporting the next generation of planners through professional mentorship and teaching in adjunct roles at the University of Cincinnati and Miami University. Katherine has served in leadership roles in several professional organizations by serving on both the State and Local boards of the American Planning Association and the local advisory board of the Urban Land Institute. A regular presenter at professional conferences on a variety of planning topics, she is particularly passionate about drawing attention to the importance of planners’ mental health. She has been certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) since 2001 and was inducted into the AICP College of Fellows in 2022.
