Anita Cozart has served as Director of the Washington DC Office of Planning since 2022, where she spearheaded the 2021 Comprehensive Plan update, initiated a new generation of neighborhood plans, and launched a public space activation program to support downtown economic recovery. In this role, Ms. Cozart advances land use, zoning, urban design and preservation initiatives to support attainable housing, resilience, and racial equity. She also served as a managing director at PolicyLink, where she led equitable development initiatives in cities across the United States and national campaigns to embed racial equity in community planning, housing, transportation and infrastructure policy.
