Kevin is a Michigan-native, who’s spent the last 15 years working on challenging and complex planning processes primarily in the cities of Flint and Detroit. He appreciates working to tackle tough planning & design problems through reason and sincerity, while identifying practical solutions. This often means working across contrasting stakeholder groups and finding consensus.
Kevin has been with the City of Detroit since 2018, serving as an Associate Director (Design Director). In his role, he oversees the day-to-day planning and implementation activities for the most populous and diverse neighborhoods of the city. He has successfully led planning processes for multiple city neighborhoods, including the Corktown neighborhood where he worked closely with Ford Motor Company on its redevelopment planning of the iconic Michigan Central Station. Kevin co-authored the City’s recent HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (Corktown) grant award and it’s Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant for the Eastern Market neighborhood.
Prior to his current role, Kevin oversaw the day-to-day planning operations for the City of Flint and co-authored the City’s award-winning, Imagine Flint Master Plan, the City’s first comprehensive plan in over 50 years
