Dr. Wafa Al-Daily is a senior urban planning and international development executive with more than two decades of leadership experience across academia, government, multilateral institutions, and the private sector in the United States, the MENA region, and other global regions. Her expertise spans urban governance, metropolitan and regional strategy, recovery and reconstruction, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development, with particular focus on fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
As Co-Founder and Executive Director of EHAAR International, she leads multi-stakeholder initiatives that integrate policy reform, institutional strengthening, and humanitarian-development coordination. Her work advances the Humanitarian–Development–Peace Nexus by embedding resilience, governance reform, and long-term recovery frameworks into national and local planning systems.
Dr. Al-Daily is the Vice President of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP). She also has held senior leadership roles within global professional networks, including leading the International Metropolitan Fellowship, contributing to governance and cross-regional collaboration. She has worked with organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank Group, and the Qatar National Research Fund. She holds a Ph.D. in Planning, Governance, and Globalization from Virginia Tech, a Master of City and Regional Studies from Rutgers University, and a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering from Sana’a University.
