Planning Business Group Leader
WAYpoint @ WET
Butte, Montana
Stephen Coe, P.E., AICP, is the Planning Group Business Development Leader at Water & Environmental Technologies (WET), where he supports communities across Western Montana through long‑range planning, infrastructure strategy, and environmental analysis. A licensed Professional Engineer in seven states and a certified planner, he brings a practical, community‑focused approach to complex environmental and infrastructure challenges.
Stephen’s planning philosophy is shaped by his roots in Butte, America, a community defined by some of the nation’s most challenging Superfund issues. Working in this environment taught him that effective planning requires grit, honesty, and the ability to confront difficult problems directly—a perspective he carries into every project.
At WET, he leads business development for the Planning Group while contributing to multidisciplinary projects involving water systems, environmental compliance, land use, and community resilience. He emphasizes translating technical information into clear, actionable strategies for local governments and organizations.
Stephen also serves his community in multiple leadership roles, including Chair of the Butte‑Silver Bow Zoning Board of Adjustment, Vice‑Chair of the Urban Revitalization Agency (URA), and member of the Planning Board. He is also President of the Pacific Northwest International Section (PNWIS) of the Air & Waste Management Association.
