Matt Wilson is a Planner and GIS analyst with Desire Line LLC. He has 4 years of planning experience across multiple disciplines within the planning field including code writing, comprehensive plan development, zoning administration, floodplain management and current planning, with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). His recent mapping projects in the State of Louisiana have included comprehensive rezonings for the City of Slidell; and the Town of Abita Springs; Floodplain mapping for Terrebonne Parish and the Louisiana Watershed Initiative, and; spatial analysis for the City of New Orleans’ Transient Lodging Study. A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, Matt completed his Bachelor of Public Administration at the University of South Florida (2022) before moving to Louisiana in to further pursue his education, graduating from the University of New Orleans with his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning in 2024. During his time in graduate school he interned for the Jefferson Parish Planning Department prior to accepting his current position with Desire Line. He is an active member of the New Marigny Neighborhood Association where he lives with his partner Kate, and their three cats; Toulouse, Purrcy, and Pugsley.
