Holds a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2025 he was recognized as being the top 40 under 40 by Virginia Business for making a making waves in Virginia and also received the George R House, Jr. Award for Outstanding Service for a public administrator under the age of 40 and has demonstrated a record of outstanding performance in public service. In the past five years, has overseen the adoption of Chesapeake 2045, Greenbrier Area Plan, Industrial Waterfront Plan (2024 Holzheimer Economic Development Award, Virginia APA), Trails and Connectivity Plan (2025 Commonwealth Connector Award, Virginia APA), Indian River Design Guidlines, and South Norfolk Design Guidelines.
