Rebecca Cheezum, PhD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Public Health at Oakland University and a City Commissioner in Royal Oak, Michigan. She teaches courses related to the social determinants of health, community-engaged research, and community-based public health. After serving on local boards (Aging in Place and Parks and Recreation), she was elected to the Royal Oak City Commission in November, 2023. Dr. Cheezum holds a PhD in Health Behavior and Health Education from University of Michigan, an MPH from Boston University, and a BA in Psychology from Bates College.
