Minjee Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Urban Planning department at UCLA. Her research and teaching are situated at the intersection of real estate development and urban planning, with a particular focus on the place of equity in real estate development, land value capture, zoning reform, and public/private developments. She has been recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in US land use regulation and zoning. She earned her PhD and Master’s degrees in planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was previously employed as an Assistant Professor at Florida State University. Her ultimate goal is to conduct research that can advance planning practice and public policies.
