Allyn Childress, AICP, is the Conservation Director for the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation (FWCF). The Florida Wildlife Corridor is an 18-million-acre network of forests, rivers, ranches, and farms that connect the Everglades to the Georgia and Alabama borders. Allyn brings 30 years of experience in environmental policy, strategic planning, and science communications to the FCWF where she focuses on “Minding the Gaps,” working alongside a diverse array of partners including agency planners, wildlife/corridor experts, private industry, and landowners to conserve and connect urgent, vulnerable, and irreplaceable gaps in the Corridor. Previously, she facilitated stakeholder workshops and supported intergovernmental coordination efforts for the US Department of the Interior’s Everglades Task Force and the South Florida Regional Planning Council. Outside of work, Allyn has served on the board of the Friends of Brooker Creek Preserve since 2006, protecting and restoring an 8,700-acre wilderness in Florida's most densely populated county.
