Chris Mefford founded Community Attributes Inc. in Seattle in 2005 as a community and economic development consulting firm. CAI facilitates planning and economic development strategies, produces compelling economic impact stories and market studies, and builds custom technology tools. The firm’s work is rooted in Seattle with offices in Denver and Memphis.
Chris is highly lauded as an expert in quantitative communications. Chris also served as Interim CEO for two regional economic development organizations, most recently at Greater Seattle Partners. Recent projects include supporting the Spokane Valley Comprehensive Plan; the MidSouth Development District Greater Memphis Regional Employment Forecasts; Greater Memphis Chamber strategic plan; economic development strategies for Boise, Idaho, and Mountain View, California, the Tacoma Equity Map, and technology tools for Washington State economic development organizations.
Chris relocated personally to Memphis in 2022, and splits time across CAI's offices and client locations. Chris holds an MBA from the University of Washington; an MS in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa; and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa.
