I am a lifelong Detroit resident. Graduate from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a BA in Political Sciences studied law at Thomas M Cooley.
I am the owner and farmer at our family farm, Lamar Family Gardens on the city’s eastside!
In 2024, I became the lead over the Urban Agricultural Division in the City of Detroit. I Worked in government for over 10 years prior to joining the non-profit sector at the historic Eastern Market in 2015. In 2019, I was elected by peers to become chair of the Detroit Food Policy Council, completing my term in early 2025.
I completed the Detroit Equity and Action Lab Fellowship in 2019, served on the governor’s Food Security Council in 2020, and completed the Great Lakes Environmental Leadership Fellow in 2023.
